Vertex, Inc. is
pleased to announce the successful
completion of an advanced course of
study by our new Lead Internal
Auditor:
Mrs. Stephanie Alexi completed the
course of study for “Internal
Auditor Training ISO 9001:2008” at
the University of Akron, Summit
College, Department of Work Force
Development.
Stephanie Alexi recently completed
her Internal Auditor Training ISO
9001:2008 course of study at the
University of Akron.
Stephanie is our Materials Lab
Technician with responsibilities
involving the compliance of
specifications for our incoming raw
material and finished part
verification. Her daily
responsibilities cover the important
steps from the beginning of our
production processes, to the
successful release of production
orders based on acceptable physical
property analysis. As we have
stated previously, continuing
education and training are a part of
our corporate vision. These
educational opportunities for our
associates are vital to their long
term development, core competencies
and fulfillment of our customer
obligations.
This course of study, through
hands-on activities, provided a
platform to learn auditing terms and
definitions; process models; process
audit versus the system audit; audit
skills and techniques; planning,
performing and reporting the audit
as well as the corrective action
process. Vertex, Inc. previously
was accredited to ISO 9001:2000
(with design) in 2006. In 2009 the
company was certified to ISO
9001:2008 (with design) and there
has been an ongoing effort to
upgrade our associates knowledge and
abilities to conform to the newer
accreditation level
We offer our
congratulations to Stephanie for
working to benefit our customers,
fellow associates, and the entire
Vertex organization. We are proud
of her accomplishments.

Inc. RECEIVES
ISO 9001:2008(WITH DESIGN)
CERTIFICATION
Mogadore,
OH August, 2009 - Vertex, Inc.'s
design, production and distribution
operations have been certified to
the ISO 9001:2008 (w/design),
International Quality System
Standard. The certification became
effective on August 9, 2009.
The company's entire quality system
was audited and certified by
Smithers Quality Assessments Inc. (SQA),
a leading independent accredited
registrar, and found to be in
compliance with this newest ISO
standard. Vertex was previously
certified to ISO 9001:2000
(w/design).
Vertex, Inc. specializes in the
design and manufacture of
elastomeric seals for customers in
the construction industry and other
related industries. Customers are
currently serviced in North, Central
and South America. Vertex conducts
business out of two facilities in
Mogadore, Ohio, a suburb of Akron.
Smithers is fully accredited both by
the Dutch Council for Accreditation
(RvA) and the American National
Accreditation Body (ANAB) and is a
member of the Independent
Association of Accredited
Registrars.
